(Seguin) -- If you have to travel State Highway 123 South or even parts of State Highway 46 then get ready to stop or move out of the way. Talk and planning has officially begun for an oversized load expected to travel through Guadalupe County later on this week.

SPD still seeking clues for unsolved missing persons' cases

(Seguin) -- Whether it has been one year or 26 years, people who go missing are never forgotten. That's especially true for the Seguin Police Department which has been recently working with the families of at least two different residents -- each who separately went missing from this community. Together, the hope is that new leads will help bring them home.

Community donates mounds of food, moving van full of toys; Seguin shows big support for Blue Santa, Christian Cupboard

(Seguin) -- The community turned out in a big way Monday, all in support of the KWED/Seguin Daily News Food & Toy Drive. The annual event featured live music, local dignitaries, and volunteers, who all showed up to help collect food, toys and money for the Seguin Police Department's Blue Santa program, and the local food pantry, the Christian Cupboard.

Drug bust lands local couple behind bars

(Seguin) -- A local couple is behind bars following a month long drug investigation. Guadalupe County Sheriff's Investigators say the couple identified as Miranda Lopez and Billy Rivera were arrested Tuesday at the home following a search of the residence. They say that search uncovered several pieces of evidence linking the couple to the illegal drug operation.

SHS bowler Carmona takes 2nd in Ebonite tourney

Seguin High School bowler Nicholas Carmona recently took second place among individuals competing from 32 schools in the Ebonite High School Classic. Carmona bowled scores of of 234, 240, and 213 for a total of 688 in the three-round event to finish behind Santa Fe's Ashton Waldrup, whose scores totaled 713.

Chargers pull away in second half, hand Seguin girls district loss
(Seguin) - The Seguin girls basketball team kept Tuesday's District 26-5A game against Boerne-Champion competitive for a half, but the Chargers opened the third quarter with a 10-0 run and never looked back in a 64-40 win over the Matadors at Goldie Harris Gym.
