(Seguin) -- When it comes to the things that we're thankful for, family is usually always at the top of the list.

Perhaps that's why 21 families from the San Antonio and Austin regions of Child Protective Services (CPS) spent the day Tuesday in Seguin officially declaring what they have already been for months -- a family.

(Seguin) -- A Seguin woman wants to secure a spot on the ballot for Guadalupe County District Clerk.
Lynn Bothe is announcing her intentions to file for candidacy as she seeks the Republican nomination for the position during the March 2018 Primary.

Downtown Seguin's Public Library receives statewide recognition from the Texas Downtown Association

(Seguin) -- The Downtown Seguin Library has been named the winner of the Best Public Improvement category for a community with a population under 50,000. The awards program is sponsored by the Texas Downtown Association (TDA) which annually recognizes outstanding projects, places, and people from across the state. The Alley on Third in Downtown Mount Pleasant was also named a winner in this category.

OLG to host annual Thanksgiving Community Dinner

(Seguin) -- Preparations for Thanksgiving dinner continue today for one of Seguin's largest holiday gatherings. The Community Thanksgiving Dinner hosted by the confirmation students at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church will be served beginning on Wednesday morning in the parish hall.

(Corpus Christi) - The Navarro Panthers look to advance to the third round of the UIL football playoffs for the third straight season when they meet the Rio Hondo Bobcats in a 4A Division II area-round battle Friday night at Calallen's Wildcat Stadium in Corpus Christi.

TLU women's basketball 1-2 to start season

Former Marion standout Cami Davis, who transferred to TLU from UT-Tyler in the off-season, averaged 20 points over the Bulldogs' first three games of the season.  
(Seguin) - The Texas Lutheran women's basketball team dropped two of its first three games to start the 2016-17 season over the course of the past week, falling to Mary Hardin-Baylor 91-73 in Belton last Thursday before splitting a pair of home games with a 74-57 win over Sul Ross State on Saturday and a 66-60 loss to Howard Payne on Monday.
