City pushes back official opening of new Park West; Crews work overtime to get park opened this month

(Seguin) -- Seguin's enthusiasm for the opening of the new Park West will have to be put on hold at least for a few more weeks. Seguin Parks and Recreation Director Jack Jones says unfortunately, crews have been unable to catch up with the initial construction schedule.

SEDC honors companies for their contributions to Seguin

(Seguin) -- Five local companies were recently recognized for being a key player in Seguin's vibrant economy. That's according to Terry Trevino, the executive director of the Seguin Economic Development Corporation. Trevino says the companies were honored during the Third Annual Business Appreciation Luncheon. The luncheon was held Thursday, Aug. 27 at the Texas Theatre.

Seguin Police investigate pharmacy burglary

(Seguin) -- Seguin Police Detectives continue to investigate the burglary of a local pharmacy. Sgt. James Springer says the burglary was reported at around 3:45 a.m. Monday at Parker's City Pharmacy. The pharmacy is located at 1005 E. Court St.

Pair of businesses cash in on downtown niche; Mini-mart, restaurant to bring new life, business to downtown Seguin

(Seguin) -- An option in dining and a dose of convenience has been added to the mix of night life in downtown Seguin. In the last couple of months, after 5 p.m. activity has increased around the downtown square. Much of that is thanks to the opening of a new convenience store, Mimi's Mini Mart, and the addition of evening dining at PJ's Restaurant located just next door in the 100 block of East Court Street.

Luling cancels football game with Navarro after assistant coach’s death

(Geronimo) – The Navarro High School football team’s Friday night schedule is in limbo this week. The Panthers were slated to host Luling at Erwin-Lee Field, but the Eagles cancelled the game after the death of defensive coordinator Ralph Lymas on Monday.

Seguin resident Rick Marmolejo took first place in the 8th flight and 8th flight senior division at the 58th Annual National PAGA Convention and Tournament earlier this summer in Fort Worth.
