(Seguin) -- Having not one but two Guadalupe County high schools in the hunt for a state championship is reportedly more than just about football. It's also about the representation of the county's youth.

(Seguin) -- The identity of the person killed in a two-vehicle accident on the west side of town near I-10 still has been released.  The victim has been identified as Maria Del Socorro Barrera Gamez, 45.

Food for Fines; Library to accept donation of cans of food in exchange for reduction in overdue book fines

(Seguin) -- In the spirit of the season, the Seguin Public Library is sponsoring a food drive to benefit the Seguin Christian Cupboard.  From now through December 31st, library members may donate nonperishable items in lieu of payment for overdue fines.

(Lytle) – The Navarro girls basketball team continued its recent trend of improved play Tuesday night with a 57-36 shellacking of Lytle on the road.

Matadors stave off La Vernia rally for 68-56 win

(Seguin) – The Seguin boys’ basketball team nearly squandered all of a 15-point lead over La Vernia Tuesday night, but the Matadors used an 11-0 run in the fourth quarter to survive the Bears’ rally and notch a 68-56 win at Goldie Harris Gym.

Strong first half sparks Marion girls in blowout of Bandera
(Marion) – The Marion girls basketball team jumped out to a 27-8 lead over Bandera in the first quarter and never looked back Tuesday night in a 78-32 rout at the MHS gymnasium.
