Woman's legacy now lies with bridge on Walnut Springs Trail; City recognizes woman's selfless efforts in the revitalization of current Walnut Branch
Posted on 5/18/2017 8:15:00 AM.
(Seguin) -- Many describe Seguin's Walnut Springs Hike and Bike Trail as a city jewel but if you look even closer and follow the path south, you'll see what might be an even more pristine jewel embedded along the creek bed. That jewel no doubt belongs to the Vaughan Family. For decades, the banks of the creek were the play and work space for the late Ruby Pearl Vaughan. Today, Ruth's love and legacy for her property forever remains in place thanks to a new sign at the now newly named "Ruby Pearl Bridge" located just south of the Seguin Public Library and immediately west of St. James Catholic Church.

(Seguin) -- The Seguin City Council is attempting to fine tune the city's downtown parking rules. The city recently stepped up its enforcement efforts for on street parking areas that have been designated as two hour parking. Vehicles that spend more than two hours in one of these spots could be ticketed, and the owner would be forced to pay a $25 fine. The idea behind the two hour parking was to have more of those spaces available for people looking to do business with downtown merchants.
