Chambers of commerce recognized this week; Chamber Week focuses on the important roles played by the business organizations.
Posted on 10/17/2017 7:34:00 AM.

(Seguin) -- The Seguin Area Chamber of Commerce and the Seguin-Guadalupe County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce are well known for the events that they put on in the community. Their well attended events include the Seguin Area Chamber's Showcase Seguin and the Hotshots Fish Fry Reunion, and the Hispanic chamber's Fiestas Juan Seguin and Power Luncheon.

The events are popular community attractions, so it's easy to think of those things when you think of the work of the chambers of commerce. But the chambers of commerce here in Seguin and those across the state, are really much more than that. That's one of the reasons why the Seguin Area Chamber of Commerce is working to increase the awareness about the work that it does year round.

This is Chambers of Commerce Week across the state of Texas. Kendy Gravett, president of the Seguin Area Chamber of Commerce says that chambers are organizations that support businesses in each community. She says they work hard through their committees and volunteers to try to make this community a better place to work and live. She says this year's designation of Chambers of Commerce Week helps to drive home that point.
