(Seguin) -- Time is of the essence for Seguin to help one of its own reach her dreams. Sunday night marks the deadline for individuals to help Julia Rose Miller, a 2015 Seguin High School graduate, win the national model search for Torrid. The 20-year-old, who currently lives in Austin, is one of the Top 4 finalists in the competition for Torrid, the leader for plus size fashion in America. Online and social media voting is now underway. The top model with the most votes gets the ultimate prize of representing the fashion brand for the coming year.

Pecan Fest-Heritage Days begins this weekend; Schedule includes Dia De Los Muertos Pop Up Gallery, more

(Seguin) -- Seguin's night-life will enjoy a splash of color thanks to a pop-up art gallery coming its way this Saturday. Area artists will be hosting the pop-up art event as part of Seguin's Pecan Fest Heritage Days celebration. Warehouse will be the site for the first ever Dia De Los Muertos Pop Up Gallery.
 
Coordinating the event is Kelsey Huckaby. Huckaby says the idea was inspired by an already successful event in New Braunfels.

Big Red Barn to host pecan queen's contest, Jeep show, kids activities

(Seguin) -- The barn doors of the Texas Agricultural Education & Heritage Center, a.k.a. The Big Red Barn, will also open up this Saturday as part of this weekend's Pecan Fest & Heritage Days celebration. A number of events are slated at the Big Red Barn which includes the site of the Pecan Museum of Texas from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Sheriff's Office to help dispose of unwanted prescription drugs on Saturday

(Seguin) -- Here's the chance to safely clean out your medicine cabinets. In collaborative efforts with the DEA in observance of National Take Back Initiative, the Guadalupe County Sheriff's Office will again be the venue for a one-day opportunity for persons to dispose of unwanted or unused prescription drugs.

(Marble Falls) - Barring a series of unlikely events, Seguin has to win all three of its remaining District 26-5A football games and receive help from a few other teams to have a shot at qualifying for the UIL playoffs.

(Brownwood) – Texas Lutheran football looks to rebound from last week’s 33-30 loss to No. 5 Hardin Simmons with a road victory over the Howard Payne Yellow Yackets on Saturday at Gordon Wood Stadium in Brownwood.
