Seguin Deputy Police Chief to lead Holiday Stroll Parade

(Seguin) -- The city of Seguin will kick off the holiday season with the help of its own hometown hero. Seguin Deputy Police Chief Bruce Ure has been selected to serve as the grand marshal for this year's Holiday Stroll Parade.
 
Seguin Mayor Don Keil says he chose Ure after hearing about his life-saving actions during the Las Vegas shooting last month.

Guadalupe County welcomes new Veterans Service Officer

(Seguin) -- Guadalupe County's new Veterans Service Officer is officially in training. The Guadalupe County Commissioners Court earlier this month appointed United States Air Force Veteran Marisela Gonzales to the position. Gonzales, on Monday, began her in-training appointment with Retiring Veterans Officer Bill MacAllister.

Holiday Stroll tradition continues in Seguin

(Seguin) -- A beloved holiday tradition will return to downtown Seguin on Friday, Dec. 1.  The annual Sip ‘n Stroll featuring over 25 “chocolatiers” will be sure to solve anyone’s sweet tooth.  Downtown merchants will stay open late from 5:30  to 8:30 p.m. to welcome visitors and participate in the competition for the best hot cocoa.

Seguin PD to help churches take action during emergency situations; Church leaders, members come together for House of Worship Security Planning Semin

(Seguin) -- The Seguin Police Department is doing its part to help keep local churches a place for peace and worship. While the healing continues for those involved in the mass shooting at Sutherland Springs and for other sites across the country, law enforcement officials here in Seguin are responding by being proactive to any future threats. The Seguin PD is hosting a House of Worship Security Planning Seminar. Today's seminar will be held from 6:30 to 9 p.m. in the Seguin High School Performing Arts Center.

(Geronimo) – The Marion girls basketball team shook off an early 10-point deficit to survive a back-and-forth shootout against Guadalupe County rival Navarro Tuesday night with a 65-62 road win at the Navarro Events Center in Geronimo.

(Geronimo) – The Marion boys basketball team used a 15-4 run in the third quarter to pull away from county rival Navarro in a 44-27 road win Tuesday night at the Navarro Events Center in Geronimo.

(Seguin) – The Seguin boys basketball team ended a two-game slide Tuesday night by outlasting San Antonio-Highlands 65-63 at Goldie Harris Gym.
