Seguin celebrates opening of new Utilities Operation Center

(Seguin) -- The city of Seguin is celebrating its recent upgrade -- an upgrade designed to keep the lights on and the water running. The city recently held a ribbon cutting for its new Utilities Operation Center constructed at 3027 N. Austin St. The grand opening ceremony was held for the new 16,000 square foot building designed for not only electric and water but also wastewater and information technology.

(Seguin) -- Seguin Animal Services says its committed to keeping animals in the community safe and well cared for. Morgan Ash, the public information officer, says a new ordinance recently passed by city council adds new protections to our four-legged friends.

Man, woman arrested following recent drug bust

(Seguin) -- A man and woman are behind bars after $16,000 worth of drugs were recently seized at a local home. Lt. Eddie Flores of the Guadalupe County Sheriff's Narcotics Division, says a search warrant on Wednesday, Jan. 10 at a home in the 1300 block of North San Marcos Street uncovered approximately 77 grams of cocaine, 41 grams of heroin, 82 grams of marijuana and 36.8 grams of methamphetamines.

Seguin invited to observe MLK Day 2018

(Seguin)  -- The legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. continues to be celebrated today in Seguin. Monday is the official federal holiday honoring the slain civil rights leader. 

The Seguin MLK Day Planning Committee each year sponsored a four-day celebration of the life of Dr. King. Committee Chair Regina Lee says the four-day event is held each year to honor Dr. King's work and to also continue his work of trying to improve the lives of everyone.

Seguin girls advance to Edgewood soccer tournament final

(San Antonio) – The Seguin girls soccer team came up short to Laredo-United 4-0 in the championship match of the Edgewood ISD Tournament on Saturday to cap an otherwise successful three-day stretch that saw the Matadors notch five victories and only one loss.
