City gives green light to new future subdivision

(Seguin) -- The Seguin City Council has given its blessing to the development of a new subdivision to the built along Cordova Road.
 
The council on Tuesday approved a voluntary annexation plan and a zoning change request that will allow the process to move forward. The development, once completed, could lead to the construction of more than 200 new homes.

City to help preserve durability of roads at Mill Creek subdivision

(Seguin) -- Some roads in a local neighborhood are about to get a bit of a facelift. The Seguin City Council approved an amount not to exceed $200,000 for a new product to be installed along some streets in the Mill Creek Crossing subdivision.

August Wilson's ''Fences'' presented this weekend at The Texas

(Seguin) -- You're running out of time to see August Wilson's award-winning play Fences in Seguin. The play was presented last week as part of the Dr. Martin Luther King celebration in Seguin. This weekend it opens at the historic Texas Theatre in downtown Seguin. 

Fences is an extremely well known theatrical production that won Tony awards. It would go on to be a full lenth feature at the movies last year, which resulted in an Oscar nomination for Denziel Washington and an Oscar win for co-star Viola Davis.

(Seguin) -- When it comes to the Guadalupe County Youth Livestock and Homemakers Show, family members of a student can also often play an important role in making the project happen.
 
Take Becky Breitenkamp and her father Robert Piper for example. The two were spotted this week at the Guadalupe County Fairgrounds looking after Belle, a Simmental heifer. Belle is this year's project for Becky's son, Tristan, a Navarro freshman and FFA member. While Tristan was in school, the two helped prep his work for the 77th annual youth show.
