|(Guadalupe County) -- A Texas state trooper and a suspect are both in the hospital as a result of a shootout after a chase down I-10 on Sunday afternoon. The trooper had pulled the suspect over in Guadalupe County for a moving violation. The chase resulted when the suspect reportedly fled after the trooper tried to arrest him for giving a false name. |

|(Luling) -- Two people died in yet another accident along Interstate 10 late last week. The Texas Department of Public Safety said the crash involved two commercial motor vehicles and two passenger vehicles and happened late Thursday night on I-10 east at the San Marcos River Bridge in the Luling area. |

(Seguin) - The Navarro softball team churned out six consecutive wins without a loss week in its annual home tournament at Huber Ranch, and ended up with a second-place finish behind Schertz-John Paul II due to the points tiebreak system.
