Seguin to host Field of Honor event this summer

(Seguin) -- A moving tribute of honor, patriotism and celebration is set to make its way to Seguin this summer.

Thanks to a group of veterans and supporters, Seguin will be the host site for the state's only scheduled Field of Honor event in 2019. Like the Healing Field established after the 911 terrorist attacks on America, the Field of Honor is the Colonial Flag Foundation's continued effort to remember and honor the sacrifices and heroism that go into celebrating America.

The Spring Break experience in California

(Seguin) -- Memories are in the making for 84 Seguin Matador band students as they continue their Spring Break trip this week in sunny California. Many of the families spent months fundraising and preparing their students for the well deserved band trip -- a trip that kicked off over the weekend with an invitation to perform in the Disneyland Parade.

TLU Awarded $1.1 Million National Science Foundation Grant

(Seguin) -- Thanks to a $1 million grant, TLU will be able to pump out even more qualified teachers for the South Central Texas area.

Texas Lutheran University (TLU) is the recipient of a $1,163,200 Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF). Funding will support the project, “Preparing Committed and Culturally Competent STEM Teachers in South Central Texas.”

Student leads International Women's Day effort at local middle school

(Seguin) -- A local teenager this week is on the front lines of an international effort. Barnes Middle School student Ava Haiyasoso-Gonzalez is encouraging her fellow students and teachers to not only learn more but be inspired by this Friday's observance of "International Women's Day.”

Bulldogs' Uecker wins adidas Intercollegiate; TLU finishes fifth overall

(Dataw Island, South Carolina) - Texas Lutheran senior Colin Uecker won the adidas Intercollegiate individual title and led the Bulldogs to a fifth-place team finish Tuesday at Dataw Island Club's Cotton Dike Course.

(Seguin) - Seguin refused to go down without a fight in Monday's District 26-5A baseball game against Boerne-Champion, but the Matadors' four-run rally in the seventh inning wasn't enough to prevent a 9-6 loss at 'Smokey' Joe Williams Field.

(Boston) - Texas Lutheran student-athletes Darren Jones, Ashley Rynard, and Garrett Garza each grabbed NCAA Division III All-America honors Saturday at the 2019 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships.
