(Seguin) -- The Seguin Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors continues to make investments in the future of the local economy. Specifically, the board is again showing its support for the need to connect today's students with the future local jobs of tomorrow.

Accident victims identified following a pair of fatalities over the weekend

(Seguin) -- The names of the five victims involved in a pair of head-on crashes over the weekend have been released.
 
Killed during the Friday night accident at the Guadalupe River Bridge on FM 466 were Melissa Joslyn, 42 and Patricia Martinez, 36. Joslyn and Martinez, both of Seguin, were the drivers of their respective vehicles. Sgt. Deon Cockrell of the Texas Department of Public Safety says troopers responded to the crash at around 7 p.m.

FurBall set for this Thursday night; Tickets now available for FurBall fundraiser

(Seguin) -- One of the largest parties of the season moves to a weeknight this year. Tickets are still available for the annual FurBall Fundraiser hosted by the Seguin Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF). The party is scheduled for this Thursday at the historic Texas Theater.

2017 Sip 'n Stroll Mug Artwork Selected

(Seguin) -- The 2017 Sip 'n Stroll will feature the Park Plaza Hotel in honor of the building turning 100 years old and recently a piece submitted by Liz Romero was selected to adorn the mug. The annual holiday tradition of Sip 'n Stroll started seven years ago where visitors to downtown brandishing an official Sip 'n Stroll mug can sample dozens of hot chocolates at downtown merchants. Each year the mug features a piece of artwork of a local landmark, with previous years featuring the Texas Theatre, Central Park, the Power Plant, and Sebastopol House.

(Seguin) - The Seguin High School cross country program hosted the Matador Cross Country Invitational last week, with the Seguin boys finishing 11th among 23 schools, and the girls finishing 12th among 26 teams.
