(Seguin) -- The annual Downtown Scarecrow Competition has become a loved tradition for visitors to downtown Seguin. That's according to Kyle Kramm, the director of the Seguin Main Street and Convention & Visitors Bureau who says the competition encourages businesses to decorate their storefront windows with one of the season's most popular features -- the scarecrow.More

(Seguin) -- Several groups and businesses helped the celebrate the heritage and tradition of the Guadalupe County Fair and PRCA Rodeo during this year's annual fair parade held in downtown Seguin. Judges were said to have had the tough job of narrowing the votes down to the best of the best. The parade was held Friday morning. The parade traveled south on Austin Street -- coming to an end at the Guadalupe County Fairgrounds.More

(Lubbock) -- A 19-year old Seguin man, who's already facing a capital murder charge in Lubbock, is now also facing a federal weapons charge. The Lubbock Avalanche-Journal
reports that a federal grand jury on Wednesday indicted Hollis Alvin "Reid" Daniels on a federal charge of possession of a stolen firearm. More

Texas Tech University Police Officer Floyd East, Jr. was killed Monday night.
(Lubbock) -- Texas Tech University police say a murdered officer had only been on the force a few months. Texas Tech University Police Chief Kyle Bonath says Officer Floyd East Jr., 48, was relatively new to the department.More

Navarro pulls away from Llano after halftime to stay unbeaten

Seguin volleyball edges Alamo Heights, clinches playoff berth
