Healthy Nut Run set for Saturday morning; Families invited to tackle 5K in Max Starcke Park

(Seguin) -- Whether it's one mile or 3.2 miles, local families are encouraged to head to the finish line during this year's annual Healthy Nut Run. The event is part of this year's lineup of events for PecanFest/Heritage Days. The Kids' one mile run and 5K is scheduled for Saturday morning at Max Starcke Park.

Saints Alive tour returns to local cemetery

(Seguin) -- Six Seguin souls, long at rest in Riverside Cemetery, will have their stories resurrected during the annual Saints Alive! Tour. The tour hosted by the Federated Women's Club House will be held this Sunday at the historic Riverside Cemetery in Seguin.
 
Sudie Bruns, one of the coordinators for the fundraising event, says residents will get to visit the various featured graves -- learning the stories of triumph and tragedy as well as what life was like here in Seguin years ago.

Monster Bash, Boo Bash among tonight's Halloween celebrations

(Seguin) -- Seguin's Halloween fun officially begins tonight with a trio of opportunities to bring out the little ghost and goblins for a night of tricks or treats. The first is the annual Monster Bash at the Seguin Public Library from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
 
Children's Librarian Hannah Farmer says this marks the 10th year for the annual event. She says the Monster Bash remains one of the most favorite Halloween traditions for the community.

Artists of all levels invited to paint, draw Seguin this Friday

(Seguin) -- Get ready for a Paint Out. The Seguin Art League is calling on artists whether amateur or professional to enter its second annual Painting in the Park, Paint Out contest on Friday followed by a Wet Paint Sale on Saturday during Seguin's Annual Pecan Fest events in downtown Seguin.

(Geronimo) – Navarro overcame an abysmal start to Tuesday’s regular season finale against the second-ranked 4A volleyball team in the state to outlast La Vernia in five sets and claim a share of the District 27-4A championship at the Navarro Events Center in Geronimo.

Loss to Dripping Springs drops Seguin into three-way tie for second

(Dripping Springs) – Seguin volleyball finds itself in a three-way tie for second place with Kerrville-Tivy and Boerne-Champion in the final District 26-5A standings after dropping Tuesday’s road match to Dripping Springs 3-1 on the final night of the regular season., but the Matadors will still end up with the No. 2 playoff seed as a result of a points-based tiebreak procedure.

Marion volleyball falls to Schulenburg, finishes 2nd in 27-3A

(Schulenburg)- Marion wrapped up the District 27-3A volleyball regular season Tuesday with a 3-0 road loss to Schulenburg, falling by finals of 25-17, 25-15, and 25-17.
