(Seguin) -- Suggesting a way to improve or celebrate the Seguin ISD no longer has to be a letter to the editor or a lone post on social media. District officials say they want individuals to go straight to the source for change during one of two community forums scheduled this week with Seguin ISD Superintendent Matthew Gutierrez. The pair of community forums for public input will be held today and Thursday in the Seguin ISD Administrative Offices in Oak Park Mall.

Bingo players look to win designer purse at annual fundraiser

(Seguin) -- Even serious bingo players are ready to forego the cash in order to take home a designer purse. Tickets are now on sale for the annual Guadalupe County Children's Advocacy Center Designer Purse Bingo. The bingo fundraiser will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Columbus Club of Seguin Hall, formerly the Knights of Columbus Hall.

Halloween traditions, several holiday events return to Seguin

(Seguin) -- Rain or shine, Seguin's largest and longest running Halloween tradition will continue tonight. The Seguin Coliseum will definitely come into play if wet weather puts a damper on traditional door to door trick or treating. In fact, the Seguin Police Department's annual Halloween Safe House at the Coliseum was initially designed to take kids off the streets and into a more secured safer environment.

(San Antonio) – Texas Lutheran finished its volleyball regular season with an 0-3 weekend at the Trinity Invitational in San Antonio, dropping non-conference matches to Mary Hardin-Baylor on Friday and to UT-Dallas and Concordia Texas on Saturday afternoon.

Mats claim team, individual titles in home golf tournament

(Seguin) – The Seguin High School boys golf team took first place and claimed four of the top five spots on the individual leaderboard in their annual fall tournament at Max Starcke Park Golf Course last week. Casey Laird was the individual champion after shooting a 77. Caide Krueger (78), Zach Littlefield (80), and J.T. Moryl (81) finished second, third, and fifth, respectively. The Matadors achieved those finishes in a tournament field that included 11 teams and 53 players.
