(Seguin) -- A hand-full of Seguin's finest were recently recognized for going above and beyond the call of duty. The Seguin Police Department is announcing some special awards presented at this year's 2017 Employee Awards Banquet.  Staci Sanchez was named Civilian of the Year, Officer Steven Trinidad received Rookie of the Year, Cpl. Michael Guerra was named Supervisor of the Year, and the Officer of the Year Award went to Brandon Torres.

Christmas Angel contest deadline arrives

(Seguin) -- The Christmas Angel today is hoping to pull in those last minute letters. Today is the deadline for the KWED Christmas Angel contest. All month long, the Christmas Angel has been encouraging kids 18 and under to submit a letter explaining why their family or member of their family is deserving of $500 cash this holiday season.

(Seguin) – Seguin High School senior Vanessa Garza signed a National Letter of Intent to join the softball program at St. Mary’s University on Wednesday during a signing ceremony and reception at Goldie Harris Gym on the SHS campus.
