Hollywood, stage legend Rita Moreno to speak this week at TLU

(Seguin) -- A film and theater legend will be in Seguin this Thursday. Actress Rita Moreno has been invited to speak at Texas Lutheran University.

Ashlie Ford, TLU's director of marketing and communications, says Moreno will speak on diversity and representation of the arts. She says the university couldn't be more thrilled about hosting such an acclaimed entertainer and Hollywood star.

Local teen attacked by dog while riding horse; Teen injured during horse ride east of Seguin

(Seguin) -- A former member of the Guadalupe County Little Miss Round-Up Court is recovering today after suffering injuries while riding a horse that was attacked by a dog.
 
Melyssa Ragland, a Seguin High School student and 2016-17 Round-Up Court Princess, remains in intensive care at University Hospital in San Antonio after suffering a small skull fracture and fractured ankle during the early Sunday morning ride.

TLU women split SCAC road games

(Irving, Colorado Springs) – The Texas Lutheran women’s basketball team opened a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference road trip with a 58-48 win over the University of Dallas on Friday in Irving, but stumbled on Sunday in Colorado Springs, falling to Colorado College 84-77.

Freshman guard Sebastian Andrade hit the go-ahead jumper with nine seconds remaining as part of a 20-point outing in TLU’s win at Colorado College on Sunday.  
 
(Irving, Colorado Springs) – The Texas Lutheran men’s basketball team snapped a two-game Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference losing skid this past weekend with a pair of conference road wins, rolling past the University of Dallas 68-52 on Friday and edging Colorado College 74-72 on Sunday.
