MHMR recognition efforts help to bring awareness to local program

(Seguin) -- The efforts, of those who have worked to meet the mental health needs of residents in Guadalupe County, are not going unnoticed.
 
A celebration and unveiling of a new plaque honoring the Guadalupe County MHMR Board at Bluebonnet Trails Community Services was recently held at the MHMR and medical facility.

Western Governors University celebrates 100,000th graduate, a SHS teacher, with special donation for his classroom

(Seguin) -- When Mark Weber, an English teacher at Seguin High School, completed his master's degree in educational leadership at WGU Texas he was excited and proud but he had no idea that he would be Western Governors University's 100,000th graduate. Weber claimed that 100,000th spot among all others students who have continued their education through the online, nonprofit university established by 19 U.S. Governors 21 years ago.

BBQ restaurant again to be featured on cable network

(Seguin) -- Lights, camera, action! Adrian Davila, of Davila's BBQ, will again feature his pit master abilities during a future Cooking Channel TV show, still to be announced. Davila and his family traditions were selected for a rare full episode of this long running program.

TLU men suffer tight road losses to Trinity, Schreiner

(San Antonio, Kerrville) – Texas Lutheran men’s basketball dropped into a sixth-place tie in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference standings over the weekend with a pair of tightly contested road losses, 76-68 to Trinity on Friday in San Antonio, and 83-81 to Schreiner on Saturday in Kerrville.

(San Antonio, Trinity) – The Texas Lutheran women’s basketball program is in danger of missing the post-season for the first time since joining the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference in 2013 after dropping conference road games to Trinity 78-66 on Friday in San Antonio, and to Schreiner 65-55 on Saturday in Kerrville.
