CCSCT to end its Meals on Wheels program

(Seguin) -- The brakes are officially in motion for the local Meals on Wheels Program. The Aging Senior Nutrition Program operated by the Community Council of South Central Texas has announced its decision to stop the home delivered and congregate meals for dozens of senior citizens 60 years and older. The announcement was publicly shared during Tuesday's meeting of the Guadalupe County Commissioners Court.

Millions of dollars worth of work underway in Seguin; City tackling more than $50 million worth of projects in FY 18

(Seguin) -- The city of Seguin is investing millions of dollars into the community's aging infrastructure. Everything from roads to water and sewer projects are currently being tackled by the city.
 
City Manager Doug Faseler on Tuesday provided the Seguin City Council with an update on the current projects underway inside the city. Faseler details dozens of projects that have either been started, that have been completed, or that are about to begin this year. He says staff has been busy and the results can be seen all over town.

Guadalupe County Sheriff's Investigators caution against reported Netflix scam

(Guadalupe County) -- Guadalupe County Sheriff's Investigators don't want you to fall victim to the latest scam claiming to be from Netflix.

According to Lt. Craig Jones, the scam is reportedly hitting local email boxes. He says the victim gets an email from Netflix claiming that their account has been lost, accidentally deleted or otherwise compromised. He says this email appears to be from Netflix and has a link to click on in the body of the email. If this link is clicked upon, it reportedly takes the victim to what appears to be the Netflix site.

(Seguin) -- There's a good chance that you know someone who's got the flu. Some national medical experts have called this the worse flu season on record, with dozens of young and elderly patients dying due to complications with the influenza virus.

Eveld makes Brown commitment official on National Signing Day

(Geronimo) - After announcing his commitment to play college football at the Ivy League’s Brown University last fall, Navarro High School senior Will Eveld made it official on Wednesday by signing his National Letter of Intent. Eveld was a four-year All-District performer for the Panthers as both a defensive back and a quarterback, and was named the District 13-4A-Division II Offensive MVP in 2016. He is Navarro’s school record holder in passing yards and touchdowns, as well as rushing yards by a quarterback, and helped the Panthers advance a total of 13 playoff rounds over the past four seasons. Seguin’s Enloe commits to TLU tennis program

(Seguin) - Seguin High School senior Kaitlyn Enloe (front center), signed a letter of intent to play tennis at Texas Lutheran University on Wednesday.
