TLU to host Diane Guerrero, actress in Netflix Series Orange is The New Black

(Seguin) -- An actress known for her role as Maritza Ramos on the hit Neflix series "Orange is The New Black" will be in Seguin tonight to share more about her original plight as Diane Guerrero, a Latino woman who at the age of 14 was left to continue her education and build on her acting career without the support of her family. Guerrero has been invited to speak to the Seguin community tonight at Texas Lutheran University.

Husband, wife murdered at Guadalupe home; Suspect believed to be local physician who didn't know couple

(Seguin) -- A local man has been arrested and charged with the capital murder of a husband and wife just before noon Sunday in Guadalupe County. Guadalupe County Sheriff's investigators say 56-year old Robert Fadal was arrested and transported to the Guadalupe County Jail in connection with the crimes. Fadal is believed to be a physician in the area. According to the website Healthgrades, Dr. Fadal is a family medicine specialist in Seguin and has been practicing for 28 years. It list his address as 801 Timber Elm, which is located in close proximity to the location where the murders took place.

Seguin ISD teams headed to state competition

(Seguin) -- The Seguin ISD has secured its place on the map thanks to the ongoing success of local Destination ImagiNation (DI) teams. Five DI teams have advanced to state competition in Mansfield, Texas on April 6-8. The teams brought home top honors following this past weekend's regional tournament in San Antonio.

Bras For A Cause to hit the runway this Thursday

(Seguin) -- Local first responders are preparing to ignite the stage during this year's annual Guadalupe County Bras for a Cause fundraiser. The first responders will be strutting their stuff or in this case -- a specially designed bra benefiting the Guadalupe Regional Medical Foundation's Cancer Assistance Fund. The fundraising event is scheduled for Thursday at the Seguin Coliseum.

(Seguin) – The Seguin and Navarro baseball programs were scheduled to co-host a tournament this past weekend with games at ‘Smokey’ Joe Williams Field and on the NHS campus in Geronimo, but wet field conditions forced all of Thursday’s action to Williams Field, Friday’s games to East Central, and ultimately prevented the Matadors and Panthers from facing each other on Saturday.
