Tiffany and Anthony Strait were murdered Sunday morning at a home in the Seguin area.
 
(Seguin) -- A local man has been arrested and charged with the capital murder of a husband and wife just before noon Sunday in Guadalupe County. The victims have been identified as Tiffany Leann Strait, 30 and husband Anthony Ray Strait, 27.

Seguin ISD to review safety, security measures in the district during tonight's school board meeting

(Seguin) -- School safety and security is expected to be among the things to be reviewed during tonight's meeting of the Seguin ISD Board of Trustees. In light of recent school shooting incidents occurring across the country, district officials say the "current and planned safety and security measures of the district" need to be communicated." Trustees will get to hear the school safety and security report for the district.

(Seguin) -- An actress known for her role as Maritza Ramos on the hit Neflix series "Orange is The New Black" will be in Seguin tonight to share more about her original plight as Diane Guerrero, a Latino woman who at the age of 14 was left to continue her education and build on her acting career without the support of her family. Guerrero has been invited to speak to the Seguin community tonight at Texas Lutheran University.

(Seguin) -- A local man has been arrested and charged with the capital murder of a husband and wife just before noon Sunday in Guadalupe County. Guadalupe County Sheriff's investigators say 56-year old Robert Fadal was arrested and transported to the Guadalupe County Jail in connection with the crimes. Fadal is believed to be a physician in the area. According to the website Healthgrades, Dr. Fadal is a family medicine specialist in Seguin and has been practicing for 28 years. It list his address as 801 Timber Elm, which is located in close proximity to the location where the murders took place.

(Guadalupe County) – The Navarro and Marion ISDs are suddenly both searching for new head football coaches and athletic directors, and both as a result of the previous occupants of those positions accepting jobs in the same school district.

The Hays CISD Board of Trustees approved the hiring of Navarro's Les Goad as the new head football coach and athletic coordinator at Hays High School in Buda, and Marion's Bruce Salmon for the same positions at Lehman High School in Kyle by unanimous 7-0 votes in a Monday night meeting.

SHS golfers take team title in Bandit tourney

(New Braunfels) – The Seguin High School boys golf team took first place in an area tournament hosted at the Bandit Golf Club in New Braunfels last week. Zach Littlefield was in the individual first place medallist with a score of 78, and Caide Krueger finished third after shooting an 85. Jake Garrison carded an 87, while Reed Skinner ended up with a 101. Pictured, from left, are Skinner, Noah Salinas, Littlefield, Krueger, and Garrison.

No. 16 UT Tyler completes three-game sweep of TLU baseball

(Seguin) - Sixteenth-ranked University of Texas at Tyler snapped Texas Lutheran’s season opening nine-game winning streak and completed a three-game series sweep of the Bulldogs with an 11-4 win on Friday followed by 4-1 and 7-6 victories Saturday at TLU's Katt-Isbel Field.
