Campaign race picks up steam for position of Guadalupe County Court-at-Law Judge

(Seguin) -- Only two more days remain for voters to cast their ballots early for this year's March 6 Republican and Democratic Primary Elections.

Radio station KWED and the Seguin Daily News today continues its count down to Tuesday's election by featuring the candidates of each locally contested race and allowing them to speak directly to voters. Today's featured race is the position of Guadalupe County Court-at-Law Judge. The judge in this position handles a variety of court cases such as but not limited to family law (guardianships), juvenile, contested probate matters, small claims, the Veterans Treatment Court and civil cases up to $200,000.

American Colors Inc. opens new facility in Seguin

(Seguin) -- Seguin's newest manufacturing facility is officially open for business. American Colors, Inc. has announced the opening of its new manufacturing facility at 5075 State Hwy. 123 North. The facility is located in the same business complex as United Alloy and Glass Chalk.

City works to grant tax relief to steel plant

(Seguin) -- The city of Seguin is working to help provide a little bit of tax relief for a large local employer. The Seguin City Council Tuesday approved the city's participation in the Texas Enterprise Zone Program. The enterprise zone designation, if granted by the state, would benefit the CMC Steel Texas mill in Seguin.

(Seguin) – The Marion boys basketball program is headed to the UIL regional semifinals for the first time in school history after pulling away late to beat district rival Schulenburg 56-45 in the 3A Region IV quarterfinals Tuesday at Seguin’s Goldie Harris Gym.
