City of Seguin crime numbers down; Seguin Police Department records decrease in Uniform Crime Report

(Seguin) -- Every six months, the Seguin Police Department is obligated to take a look at the number of crimes being reported in the city, and compare that data to previous years.

This year, the Seguin Police Department is proud to announce that from 2012 to 2017, the Annual Crime Report and Racial Profiling Reports show that there has been an 18 percent decrease overall in the UCR Crime Rate and a 10.5 percent decrease in Part 1 crimes reported during that same time period.

Seguin ISD improving security, construction of vestibules at local middle schools

(Seguin) -- The Seguin ISD is continuing its ongoing plan to tighten up and secure its facilities. As part of its proactive approach to an active shooter event and the district's overall safety, the Seguin ISD Board of Trustees Tuesday approved an architectural and engineering design services contract with Pfluger Associates for the construction of security vestibules at both Jim Barnes and A.J. Briesemeister middle schools.

Santa Rosa buzzer beater ends historic Marion season in 3A Region IV semifinal

(Seguin) - Santa Rosa's Ryan Perez caught an inbound lob pass in midair just outside the lane with 0.53 seconds remaining and banked in a shot at the buzzer to hand Marion a season ending 37-35 loss in the 3A Region IV semifinals Friday night at Goldie Harris Gym in Seguin.
