Dozens of fathers and father figures made an appearance on the red carpet with their special princess during this year's Seguin Police Department's Cinderella Ball. The event was held Friday night at the Seguin Coliseum. The princess ball invited fathers and daughters of all ages for a night of food, dinner and carriage rides.

Architect to begin developing master plan for 134 acres of county owned property near Sheriff's Office

(Seguin) -- Guadalupe County is beginning to plan its future 134 acres at a time. Guadalupe County Commissioners recently approved a contract with ThornGraves Architects to begin the development of a master plan for the future Guadalupe County Government Complex to be built over the years on the county owned 134 acre site located at 2700 N. Guadalupe Street near the Guadalupe County Jail.

Success for Zion Hill Running Club

(Seguin) - The Zion Hill Running Club had 17 members qualify for the AAU Track and Field Regional Meet, which starts today in Converse. Highlighting those regional qualifiers are Brandon Hernandez, who captured the district championship in the 1,500 meters, and Antwain Franklin, who won the district title in the 200 meters. Athletes competing in this week’s regional meet will have a chance to qualify for the AAU Junior Olympic Games in Des Moines, Iowa in July.

TLU volleyball camps coming in July

(Seguin) – Texas Lutheran volleyball coach Phyllis Fowler and staff will host volleyball camps for elementary and middle school aged students July 16-18 from 10 a.m. - noon, and for high school players on July 20 from 9 a.m. – noon and 1:30 – 3:30 p.m.  Campers can register online at http://tlubulldogs.com/sports/2018/3/8/2017-camps.aspx.  Those with additional questions can email TLU coach Phyllis Fowler at pfowler@tlu.edu.

Seguin Majors Baseball claims West Zone title
 
The Seguin Little League Majors Baseball All-Stars secured the West Zone championship in District 31 last Friday with a 3-2 win over Canyon Lake at the Seguin Little League complex. After dropping the tournament opener to Canyon Lake 11-0, Seguin earned a rematch with elimination game wins over New Braunfels-Red and Blue, and downed Canyon Lake 5-1 in the first game of the championship round to set up the winner-take-all final. Seguin faces East Zone champion Hallettsville for the District 31 championship, with the first game to be played in Gonzales, and the second (if necessary) in Seguin.  The district series schedule had yet to be finalized at press time.
