Hays CISD hires away Navarro's Goad, Marion's Salmon

(Guadalupe County) – The Navarro and Marion ISDs are suddenly both searching for new head football coaches and athletic directors, and both as a result of the previous occupants of those positions accepting jobs in the same school district.

The Hays CISD Board of Trustees approved the hiring of Navarro's Les Goad as the new head football coach and athletic coordinator at Hays High School in Buda, and Marion's Bruce Salmon for the same positions at Lehman High School in Kyle by unanimous 7-0 votes in a Monday night meeting.

SHS golfers take team title in Bandit tourney

(New Braunfels) – The Seguin High School boys golf team took first place in an area tournament hosted at the Bandit Golf Club in New Braunfels last week. Zach Littlefield was in the individual first place medallist with a score of 78, and Caide Krueger finished third after shooting an 85. Jake Garrison carded an 87, while Reed Skinner ended up with a 101. Pictured, from left, are Skinner, Noah Salinas, Littlefield, Krueger, and Garrison.

No. 16 UT Tyler completes three-game sweep of TLU baseball

(Seguin) - Sixteenth-ranked University of Texas at Tyler snapped Texas Lutheran’s season opening nine-game winning streak and completed a three-game series sweep of the Bulldogs with an 11-4 win on Friday followed by 4-1 and 7-6 victories Saturday at TLU's Katt-Isbel Field.
