Matador Stadium improvements may be without funding source; TEA may not allow Seguin to use federal funds for stadium renovations

(Seguin) -- The Seguin ISD Board of Trustees, this week, approved using federal QZAB dollars to upgrade Matador Stadium, and to pay for a new video scoreboard at the stadium. But the Texas Education Agency (TEA) says the Seguin ISD may not be able to use those funds for those purposes. The district received a $10 million no-interest loan through the federally funded program, which is administered by the TEA.

Auditions underway for this years play at the Texas Theatre

(Seguin) -- The French comedy, “Don’t Dress for Dinner” will be hitting the stage at the Texas Theater this September, but before the curtains can open, the individual acting roles must first be filled. Two days of auditions are planned for this performance.

Fantacia takes the stage for the Summer Concerts

(Seguin) -- The Central Park Summer Concert Series continues with the fourth concert on Sunday at 7 p.m. The concert will feature the band Fantacia, a local Seguin Band known for their Latin music. Those in attendance “can expect to see a group of diverse musical brothers enjoying our musical expression as a collective. They will experience nostalgia from our interpretation of older covers and a breath of fresh air from our new original music” said Enrique Rangel Jr, member of Fantacia.
