Manufacturers recognized for improving the quality of life one employee at a time
(Seguin) -- A room full of manufacturing leaders was recognized for its purpose in helping to build a stronger Seguin. Plant managers, company CEO's and other business leaders spent part of their day together yesterday during the Second Annual Business Appreciation Luncheon and Awards Ceremony held at the Texas Theatre.

SEDC recognizes companies during annual luncheon and awards ceremony
(Seguin) -- The manufacturing community is not going unnoticed in the city of Seguin. The Seguin Economic Development Corporation has extended a few recognition awards to those companies who continue to make an impact locally. Although not all manufacturers were recognized, they were each treated to a special lunch and to two hours of public appreciation at the Texas Theatre. This was the second year that the SEDC sponsored the annual Business Appreciation Luncheon and Awards Ceremony.

County agrees to fully fund Family Justice Unit; Prosecutors, law enforcement eager to get the unit started
(Seguin) -- There will be no delay in the creation of a new Family Justice Unit in Guadalupe County.  The Guadalupe County Commissioners Court reached a consensus Tuesday on a funding arrangement that would allow the unit to fully start with the new fiscal year, which begins Oct. 1.  The move essentially creates a one stop shop for all family violence cases, including those cases that are currently handled seperately in the Child Protective Services (CPS) system.

Commissioners support juvenile drug court grant
(Seguin) -- Another program aimed at helping young people in crisis got the nod Tuesday from the Guadalupe County Commissioners Court.  The court approved a resolution of support for the Guadalupe County Juvenile Supervision and Detention Department to seek grant funding for the continued operation of the county's Juvenile Drug Court program.
