(Seguin) -- Today is Ash Wednesday. The religious holiday is celebrated by many Christians around the world. While the Catholic Church's observance of Ash Wednesday may be the most well known, Father Dennis Darilek, of St. James Catholic Church says many other denominations also celebrate the occasion.

(Seguin) -- The Seguin Area Chamber of Commerce is among the groups taking a lead to ensure that the city of Seguin wins this year's HEB "It's Time Texas" Community Challenge. The challenge is designed to help unite and mobilize community members, schools, businesses, organizations and elected officials to see which community can "demonstrate the greatest commitment to healthy living.

Jury sends tough message to child sex offender; Guadalupe County man sentenced to nearly 900 years in prison

(Seguin) -- Tough sentences are meant to send a message to criminals that their behavior will not be tolerated. The  message given by a Guadalupe County jury last week to a man found guilty of sexually abusing children is that you will  never be able to walk the streets again as a free man.

Sheriff's Association of Texas looking for community partners

(Seguin) -- Guadalupe County's top law enforcement officer is encouraging you to double check your mailbox.  Sheriff Arnold Zwicke says residents over the next few weeks will be receiving a letter inviting them to become  associate members of the Sheriff's Association of Texas.
