City to begin discussing future plans for old public library building

(Seguin) -- Seguin Mayor Don Keil says the time has come to figure out what to do with the old Seguin Public Library building on East College Street. The library building served Seguin area patrons for decades, but it closed when the city built a new larger, state-of-the-art library on West Nolte Street in downtown Seguin.

(Seguin) -- The city of Seguin continues to grow, with more and more developers choosing to voluntarily have their projects annexed into the city. In the last six months, the Seguin City Council has approved three voluntary annexations of land located just outside of the city limits.

Arroyo Ranch subdivision includes parks, other amenities

(Seguin) -- A large residential development, being built near Vogel Elementary School, will not only bring dozens of new homes to the community, but it's also going to have some great amenities that will make it a more comfortable place to call home. Jack Jones, parks and recreation director for the city of Seguin, says that developers of the Arroyo Ranch subdivision have submitted their plans for parks space in the subdivision, and he says it's an impressive plan for the community.

City looking to get all lawns, property into code compliance this summer

(Seguin) -- The city of Seguin wants its residents to be on the lookout for those overgrown, weed infested lots. Helena Schaefer, senior planner for the city of Seguin, says as the weather gets hotter and the vegetation dries out, the city is identifying this code violation as a major hazard.

''Survey says'' Court Clerk earns perfect scores for customer service

(Seguin) -- A city of Seguin employee apparently has a knack for working with unhappy Municipal Court customers. Getting a speeding ticket is not necessarily the thing that brings in happy people to begin with but for Sofia Penalver, city officials say she "somehow turns a difficult situation "that could involve traffic citations and/or court hearings into a positive review."
