(Seguin) -- It's Homecoming Week at Seguin High School, and the community is encouraged to show off its Matador Spirit. It's a shortened week for students at SHS, because they are out of school on Thursday and Friday, but they still have a schedule packed with homecoming activities.

SHS Band to host two nights of El Toro

(Seguin) -- The Seguin Matador Band is inviting you over for its grand finale performance. This marks the second year that the band will be hosting El Toro, a Matador Band Stage Production.
Band Director Stan Mauldin says after last year's El Toro event, the band knew very quickly that it would become an annual tradition for the program.

Western Governors University celebrates 100,000th graduate, a SHS teacher, with special donation for his classroom

(Seguin) -- When Mark Weber, an English teacher at Seguin High School, completed his master's degree in educational leadership at WGU Texas he was excited and proud but he had no idea that he would be Western Governors University's 100,000th graduate. Weber claimed that 100,000th spot among all others students who have continued their education through the online, nonprofit university established by 19 U.S. Governors 21 years ago.

Seguin High School thespians succeed at state festival

(Seguin) - Members of the Seguin High School Theatre Arts program attended the annual Texas Thespian Festival in Grapevine Nov. 15-17. At the event, Amber Mawande-Spytek received a Musical Theatre scholarship to the tune of $1,000.00. She also received a superior rating and qualified for nationals in Solo Musical.

Tickets now on sale for SHS Improv night this weekend

(Seguin) -- Get ready to feast over a night of improv. Tickets are still available for this Saturday's Seguin High School's Drama Boosters improvisational theater show. The show featuring unlimited desserts and gourmet coffee will be showcased in the new Performing Art Center's black box.
