Seguin police officials say several homes and vehicles in that neighborhood were egged late Saturday and early morning Sunday. Video footage of the suspect vehicle has been released on social media in hopes that someone will recognize the white dually pickup or the subjects riding in the bed of the vehicle.

Student arrested after reportedly bringing guns to MBLC in Seguin

Law enforcement officials from the Seguin PD and the Precinct 2 Constable's Office on the scene of the stop made near the intersection of King and College streets this morning.

(Seguin) - There may have been a time when you could bring your hunting rifle to school and leave in in the gun rack of your pickup. Those days, given the growing list of school shootings, are long gone.

The Seguin Police Department this morning arrested a student after receiving a call of a student in a campus parking lot with a rifle inside the vehicle. The student left the campus before police could arrive, but he was stopped by the Guadalupe County Precinct 2 Constable's Office, not far from the Mercer-Blumberg Learning Center. Seguin police officers took over the seen and found a total of two guns, and the student was taken into custody. The student has been identified as 18-year old Douglas Cowey, and it's not clear that there was any intent to cause harm at the school, but officials say the times have changed and these weapons are no longer allowed on any campus.

SPD helping kids in cars stay safe; Police department offering free child safety seat checks

(Seguin) -- Parents love their children, and will do almost anything to keep them safe. It's difficult to argue that statement, except for when it comes to the issue of child safety seats. Because there's a good chance that your child's car seat is inproperly installed, it's the wrong size, or you've allowed them to graduate from their car or booster seats long before their bodies were ready. The tone of those words may seen a little harsh. They are not meant to be. Instead, it's meant to point out that data shows that most car seats are being installed or used inproperly. That's the bad news, but the good news is that there is a way to make sure you're doing it right, and that your children are getting the maximum benefit from their car or booster seats. Officials at the Seguin Police Department are offering a free service, where they will inspect and make sure that your child's car seat is installed correctly. More
