Pecan Fest-Heritage Days begins this weekend; Schedule includes Dia De Los Muertos Pop Up Gallery, more

(Seguin) -- Seguin's night-life will enjoy a splash of color thanks to a pop-up art gallery coming its way this Saturday. Area artists will be hosting the pop-up art event as part of Seguin's Pecan Fest Heritage Days celebration. Warehouse will be the site for the first ever Dia De Los Muertos Pop Up Gallery.
 
Coordinating the event is Kelsey Huckaby. Huckaby says the idea was inspired by an already successful event in New Braunfels.

Saints Alive tour returns to local cemetery

(Seguin) -- Six Seguin souls, long at rest in Riverside Cemetery, will have their stories resurrected during the annual Saints Alive! Tour. The tour hosted by the Federated Women's Club House will be held this Sunday at the historic Riverside Cemetery in Seguin.
 
Sudie Bruns, one of the coordinators for the fundraising event, says residents will get to visit the various featured graves -- learning the stories of triumph and tragedy as well as what life was like here in Seguin years ago.

(Seguin) -- Despite the time that they have been gone, several stories of Seguin's ancestors will be resurrected this weekend at the Riverside Cemetery. The re-enactments and portrayals of nine historic Seguin Citizens are part of this year's Saints Alive. The event is hosted each year by The Affiliation for the Preservation of Shakespeare and Federated Club Rooms and the city of Seguin.

Pecan Queen contest to debut during Pecan Fest Heritage Days 2016

(Seguin) -- A new royal tradition is cropping up in Seguin and Guadalupe County. A new Pecan Queen is set to be crowned during this year's Go Nuts: Pecan Fest Heritage Days 2016. The contest is set for 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29th at the Texas Agricultural Education & Heritage Center.
