Seguin Art League taking steps toward future renovation of historic Klein Opera House

(Seguin) -- The Seguin Art League is getting closer and closer to having real construction begin for its future Seguin Center for the Arts. Plenty of behind the scenes work has already been in full force for the renovation of the historic Klein Opera House located at 104 S. Austin Street.  That's according to Liz Romero, of the Seguin Art League. Romero says the group, right now, is as far as it can go with the design phase of the two story 130-year-old building that currently sits next to The Warehouse bar and restaurant in downtown Seguin.

Children, adults encouraged to sign-up for local art camp

(Seguin) -- A retired art teacher is looking to help you create your own masterpiece during the Seguin Art League's June Art Camp. The camp will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Monday through Thursday at the Woodman Life Building located at 1832 W. Kingsbury St. Artist Donna Maske, a retired teacher from Marion, says the camp is open to anyone ages 10 and up.

Entries sought for annual Elementary, Middle School Art Show

(Seguin) -- Calling all young artists. Entries will be collected next week for the annual Seguin Art League Elementary and Middle School Art Show. Robin Walker, art league publicity chair, says the contest is open to kids from the first to eighth grades.

Annual Yulefest on tap for Sunday

(Seguin) -- Get ready to shop till you drop at this year's Yulefest Arts and Crafts Show. The show, hosted by the Seguin Art League, will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Seguin Coliseum.

Artists of all levels invited to paint, draw Seguin this Friday

(Seguin) -- Get ready for a Paint Out. The Seguin Art League is calling on artists whether amateur or professional to enter its second annual Painting in the Park, Paint Out contest on Friday followed by a Wet Paint Sale on Saturday during Seguin's Annual Pecan Fest events in downtown Seguin.
