Seguin PD seeking community support for annual Badges, Bikes and Tykes

(Seguin) -- The Seguin Police Department is hoping you can come to its rescue with some donated dollars for its annual Badges, Bikes and Tykes event slated for Saturday, May 19 at Max Starcke Park. Hosted in conjunction with the Seguin Fire/EMS Department, Lt. Mike McCann with the Seguin PD says the event, originally known as Cops and Kids, helps to better connect local kids with emergency personnel.

Seguin PD stays vigilant in fight against burglaries, drugs

(Seguin) -- The Seguin Police Department is releasing its own evidence of working hard to get burglars and drug dealers off the streets. Within the last week, the department has taken down criminals in at least five separate burglary rings that have been responsible for many of the property crimes that have occurred recently in our community.

(Seguin) -- There will be fewer 18-wheeler burglaries in the state of Texas thanks to a thorough investigation by the Seguin Police Department.
 
Carlos Contreras, public information officer and crime prevention officer for the Seguin Police Department, says local detectives recently arrested Patrick Joyner, 66, of San Antonio for his connection to big rig burglaries along the IH 10 and 35 corridors.

Community members invited to sign up SPD's for Citizens Police Academy

(Seguin) -- Residents who want to gain a better understanding of the Seguin Police Department will soon have the opportunity. Applications are currently being accepted for the 2018 SPD Citizens Police Academy.
 
The annual ten-week academy starts Thursday, March 29th at 6 p.m. in the training room on the first floor of the Seguin Police Department. Each class will run approximately three hours. The last class night will be May 31st and the graduation is scheduled for the first week of June.
