SPD still seeking clues for unsolved missing persons' cases

(Seguin) -- Whether it has been one year or 26 years, people who go missing are never forgotten. That's especially true for the Seguin Police Department which has been recently working with the families of at least two different residents -- each who separately went missing from this community. Together, the hope is that new leads will help bring them home.

Seguin Police make second arrest in weekend bar fight

(Seguin) -- A second suspect has been arrested for his involvement in a weekend bar fight that has left one man in critical condition in a San Antonio hospital. Seguin Police obtained an arrest warrant for Abel Vasquez. Vasquez, 34, was arrested Monday morning and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He currently sits in the Guadalupe County Jail in lieu of a $250,000 bond.

Seguin PD encouraging public to make plans now to attend next civilian response active shooter training

(Seguin) -- The Seguin Police Department today is preparing for a full house for its first scheduled Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events Training.

In the past two decades, Seguin PD officials say horrific mass shootings such as the Sutherland Springs Church shooting, the Parkland Florida school shooting and the Las Vegas Route 91 Harvest Music Festival shooting have thrust mass shootings into public consciousness.

Man found in river has been identified

(Seguin) -- The Seguin Police Department has identified the body found floating Tuesday morning in the Guadalupe River. Deputy Police Chief Bruce Ure says the local man has been identified as Johnny Felan, 40. The body was found in the 100 block of Lenz Street across the west side of Max Starcke Park.
