|(Seguin) -- Texas Lutheran University is gearing up for its first Homecoming celebration on its brand new football field.|
Saturday's game has the undefeated Bulldogs taking on East Texas Baptist University. Kick-off is at 6 p.m. This will be the second time that a home game will be held at the new stadium. The football game will help wrap up a weekend full of activities.
In addition to the number of group and class reunions, TLU will host its annual Athletic Hall of Fame Ceremony at 7:30 p.m Friday in Hein Dining Hall. Honored will be the 1974 NAIA Football National Championship Team, Basketball team member Jarvis Anderson, Class of '92 and Class of '90 Golfers Jason Lamp and Jeff Stadheim. The annual Bulldog Pep Rally will follow at Bulldog Stadium.
Gates open at Jackson Park at 10 a.m. Saturday for tailgating. A tour of the new TLU Nursing facility will also be available from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday. The public is encouraged to meet the nursing faculty and students and talk about the new program. A campus tour for children of friends and alumni will follow from 3 to 4 p.m.
