(Seguin) -- Instead of wanting to fill their purses with some cash, it will be the purse, itself, that bingo players will be looking to win.
Kate Spade, Coach, Betsy Johnson plus many more designer handbag names will all be represented during this year's annual Designer Purse Bingo Fundraiser benefiting the Guadalupe County Children's Advocacy Center. The fundraiser is scheduled for Thursday night at the Knights of Columbus Hall.
Christy Williams, the executive director of the Guadalupe County Children's Advocacy Center, says bingo players will be crossing their fingers at a chance of taking home one of 20 designer handbags all of which have been donated by individuals and local businesses.
"Our Purse Bingo is a fun night of 20 bingo games where each game ends in a designer purse being given away to the winner and we have door prizes being given away all throughout the night as well. People who come -- not only get a chance at each one of those purses that go along with the games, but they also get a chance just by coming to the event at winning the door prizes. They get food that comes along with their ticket and drinks and all kinds of fun things that will happen that night," said Williams.
Williams say the fundraiser is made possible thanks to the large number of sponsors and individuals who donate each purse.
"We've got some fantastic purses, Kate Spade, Dooney & Bourke, Michael Kors, tons and tons of fantastic purses this year. It’s really stepped up a notch this year," said Williams.
The designer purse bingo fundraiser will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. at the KC Hall. Tickets are $35 in advance and can be purchased at Keepers, Gift & Gourmet, ZDT and at Seguin Radio KWED. A limited amount of $40 tickets will be available at the door.
