(Seguin) -- Seguin Radio KWED employees will again be hitting the streets this Friday morning. The radio station will join some of the community's VIPs in collecting food and toy donations for the Seguin Police Department’s Blue Santa Program and the Christian Cupboard. The holiday food and toy drive will be held from 7 to 9 a.m. Friday.
The morning of giving is orchestrated thanks to a group of volunteers and special sponsors. Among the groups who will be on hand include the Seguin Police Department, the Guadalupe County Sheriff's Office and the Seguin Fire/EMS Department, the Seguin ISD, the Navarro ISD, Texas Lutheran University, the Seguin Area Chamber of Commerce, the Seguin Lions Club and city of Seguin and Guadalupe County officials. A group of other individuals representing various groups will also be on hand for the morning drive.
Providing entertainment that morning will be members of the Seguin High School Matador Band and Seguin High School Choir. The groups will perform from 7 to 8 a.m. They'll be followed by the Navarro Jazz Band from 8 to 9 a.m.
KWED Radio is also extending a thank you in advance to the many sponsors who each year have helped host the drive by providing a free breakfast to all those who volunteer their time or who have provided some type of in-kind donation.
This year’s sponsors include Jackie's Tacos to Go; Seguin Chevrolet, Arlan's, HEB, Seguin Walmart, Chupacabra Java and the Seguin Area Chamber of Commerce.
