(Seguin) -- A reunion of sorts is on tap this weekend as Seguin welcomes its next Texas Roadshow performance at the Texas Theatre in downtown Seguin.
The Heart of Texas Roadshow this Saturday welcomes Barbara Fairchild and her husband Roy Morris who will headline along with Justin Trevino and Seguin's very own Dottsy.
Fairchild is an American Country Music/Gospel Music Singer, who is best known for her 1973 Country chart-topper "Teddy Bear Song". It not only became a number 1 hit on the country charts but also reached the pop charts as well peaking at number 32. It was also nominated for a Grammy that year. "Teddy Bear Song" spent two weeks at the #1 spot and became Fairchild's signature song. In 1980, she signed with Paid Records where she recorded several duets with Grand Ole Opry legend Billy Walker.
Fairchild, who now lives in Branson, Missouri, tells the Seguin Daily News that she is excited about making the trip back to Seguin, a place she knows quite well.
"I'll be working with all the great folks that play down at the Llano Opry and I'm friends with Dottsy. I'm really excited about seeing her again. In fact, I used to live in Seguin and I don't know that people are aware of that so this will be like coming home and Dottsy and I used to live right down the street from each other, so they were great. It's going to be just wonderful being with her and we just have a wonderful time. We love country music and my husband Roy Morris works with me and we do a lot of humor in everything we do. Like I said, we've worked with these folks before and it's just really such a good fit. I think people will have an absolutely great time," said Fairchild.
Fairchild and Morris currently perform at the Golden Corral Theater in Branson, singing both country and gospel music.
There will be two shows beginning at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Pre-sale tickets are $15 each or $20 at the door. Tickets are available at Gift & Gourmet, Cascades, Keepers and at the Seguin Area Chamber of Commerce. Tickets may also be purchased by calling (830) 372-6168 or on-line at thetexas.org or ticketstothecity.com.
