(Seguin) – The newly purchased Seguin Art League building in downtown Seguin is in line to benefit from this Saturday’s ArtsFest CelebrARTe at the Texas Theater. The event, which is being held in conjunction with this year’s ArtsFest celebration, will include a silent auction. A host of artists from throughout the area have each donated their talented works for the auction.
SAL President Robin Walker says they have show artists from Seguin, La Vernia, New Braunfels, Canyon Lake, Wimberley, San Antonio, Kingsbury, St. Hedwig and Luling.
“The proceeds will benefit the restoration of the Seguin Art League’s new building at 104 S. Austin. The regional involvement shows just how much support our community has for the creation of an art center” said Walker. “The art at this event is fantastic and it is an opportunity to see regional artists and take home a treasure. Some pieces are expensive but all are affordable.”
The Seguin Commission for the Arts and Main Street organized the event featuring an evening of art, live music and the silent auction of original artwork. Music by the Dirty River Dixie Band, food from the Power Plant Texas Grill and Court Street Coffee Shop, and wine and beer tastings from Blue Lotus Winery and Seguin Brewing will all be on tap for the evening affair.
The event begins at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Texas Theater located at 425 N. Austin in Seguin. The auction closes at 8:30 p.m.
Advance tickets are $25 and are available at Gift & Gourmet, Court Street Coffee Shop, and the Seguin Area Chamber of Commerce. Tickets at the door will be $30.
