(Seguin) -- Whether you are looking to start a new business or have been in business for 50 years, you won't want to miss Friday's free business workshop being hosted by the Texas Association of Mexican American Chambers of Commerce. That's according to Kathy "Mimi" Cameron of the Seguin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
Cameron says the workshop is part of the statewide organization's quarterly meeting. She says the focus will be on both business and professional development.
"We are honored to have the Texas Association of Mexican American Chambers of Commerce, otherwise known as TAMACC have their quarterly meeting in Seguin, Texas. They always enjoy our hospitality in coming to the city of Seguin for their quarterly meeting. During this time, they're giving free workshops for business owners, entrepreneurs and organization leaders or anyone else that might be interested in these topics," said Cameron.
Cameron says space is limited and each workshop session will be filled on a first come, first serve basis.
"Topics are going to be getting a loan by the Small Business Administration, employment eligibility forms, the Texas open carry law that's in the news right now about the gun carrying law -- also board of directors and staff responsibilities and running an effective chamber or organization," said Cameron.
Cameron says individuals or businesses don't have to be a chamber member to participate. She says TAMACC is a prestigious organization which serves as the umbrella for 25 plus Hispanic chambers in Texas and Oklahoma.
She says the group's leaders include some of the top CEO's and business owners in the country.
"All of these are very well accomplished, successful business owners, business leaders in the community where they are from. They have been and held these positions whether it's state or national for the chamber of commerce for many, many years. They always bring a great program. We always think that we know everything as business owners, but they always do add more education that we walk away learning something else. It's rare that you get to attend these sort of things for free. We really need to take advantage of that,' said Cameron.
Registration for the business workshops will be held between 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Friday at the Seguin Coliseum.
Individuals are encouraged to RSVP by emailing email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org. Reservation is encouraged by Thursday.
