(Seguin) -- A woman continues to face charges of embezzling thousands of dollars from GBRA.
Back in August, detectives with the Seguin Police Department say they met with Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority officials to discuss missing money from a special health care account set up for employees and their families.
Detectives say GBRA officials had suspected a trusted employee, Daphne Harder, 42, of skimming money from the special account over a long period of time. That continuous dipping into the pot resulted in a large amount of funds being stolen.
Following the investigation, a warrant was issued for Harder. She eventually turned herself in to authorities at the Guadalupe County jail in early September.
The case is now being handled by the office of District Attorney Heather McMinn. Harder is charged with theft over $20,000 and under $100,000.
