(Seguin) -- Today on the Saturday Topic program we continue to focus on the contested races that will appear on the primary election ballots on March 1.

Today we begin with a look at the race for Guadalupe County Tax Assessor-Collector. It features longtime tax office employee Liz Guerrero taking on Schertz City Councilman Daryl John.  Both are seeking the Republican nomination for the job.  Mrs. Guerrero is here with us today, but Daryl John did not accept our invitation to appear on the show.

We will also talk to Precinct 3 Commissioner Jim Wolverton who's being challenged by George Antuna for his current seat on the Guadalupe County Commissioners Court.  Mr. Antuna also did not respond to our attempts to get him on the program.

Then we'll take a look at the Precinct 1 race for Guadalupe County constable.  The incumbent is Bobby Jahns and he's being challenged by JoAnn Eckols.  Both are here in this morning.

And we will end our program with the race for constable for Precinct 4 in Guadalupe County.  The incumbent is Gene Mayes, who's seeking another term, and who's being challenged by a person who held that job some time ago -- Harvey Faulkner.

The Saturday Topic program airs at 8:06 Saturday morning on AM 1580 KWED, and online at www.seguintoday.com
