(Seguin) -- The Heart of Texas Roadshow will be making its next stop this Saturday in Seguin. The show benefiting the Texas Theater's continued restoration will feature Texas Country Music Hall of Famer Johnny Rodriguez, Dottsy & Justin Trevino. Two show times are set. They include 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the historic downtown theater.

Johnny Rodriguez was born in Sabinal, Texas, in 1951, growing up 90 miles from the Mexican border. While Rodriguez was serving a jail term, Texas Ranger Joaquin Jackson heard him sing and introduced him to music promoter Happy Shahan, who booked Rodriguez to work as a singing stagecoach driver at the Alamo Village Amusement Park during 1970-1971. There he was discovered by Tom T. Hall and Bobby Bare, who brought him to Nashville to join Hall's Storytellers. Not long after, Rodriguez signed with Mercury, releasing his debut single, "Pass Me By (If You're Only Passing Through)," in early 1973. It climbed into the Top Ten and turned out to be the first of 14 consecutive singles including "Ridin' My Thumb to Mexico," "You Always Come Back," “That’s The Way Love Goes,” “Dance With Me One More Time” and “Just Get Up And Close The Door.”

Dottsy is a Seguin native and will again bring some classics to the show including “I’ll Be Your San Antone Rose” “Storms Never Last” “After Sweet Memories Play Born To Lose Again” and “Tryin To Satisfy You.” After recording for RCA Records, Dottsy went into semi retirement to raise her family. Dottsy joined Heart of Texas Records in 2010 and released “Meet Me In Texas.”

Country music publications from throughout the United States, Canada and England gave Dottsy rave reviews for the album. She followed that release with her latest project “Texas Sensation.” An album release party will be held at the Texas Theater during the Heart of Texas Roadshow for her new record.

Justin Trevino is no stranger to Traditional Country Music fans. Trevino has released nine successful albums. He will be playing bass throughout the roadshow and adding some of his personal favorites as well including “Texas Honkytonk” “Undo The Right” and songs off of his new album “Justin Trevino Live At London Dance Hall.”

Admission is $20 per person in advance or $25 at the door. Tickets are on sale at Gift & Gourmet, Keepers, the Seguin Area Chamber of Commerce or by calling (830) 372-6168 or (830) 303-7333 or by visiting www.ticketstothecity.com.
