(Seguin) -- A fire that ripped through a large portion of a home Thursday morning has been ruled as accidental in nature. The fire was reported just before 11 a.m. in the 300 block of West Ireland Street.
Seguin Fire Chief Dale Skinner say the fire which started in a bedroom was quickly extinguished. However, he says the flames on the roof proved a bit challenging.
"It was a little challenging in a sense that the older homes are heavier construction and gaining access into the attic was a little challenging but crews were very capable and were able to get in there to get it extinguished," said Skinner.
Three people were inside the home when the fire started. Fire officials say each one escaped uninjured. Much of the home also suffered heavy smoke and water damage.
