(Seguin) -- Tickets remain for tonight's 96th Annual Seguin Area Chamber of Commerce Banquet. The event is scheduled for 6 p.m. in the Seguin Coliseum. Chamber President Kendy Gravett says the chamber is excited to celebrate Seguin during tonight's event.
"We are super excited to have Steve Chandler of Chandler Thinks as our speaker tonight. We are going to be listening to great stories of inspiration that he has gained from his interviews and his research here in Seguin (and) in the surrounding counties talking about Seguin. We're going to hear about all the different parts that made up the new Seguin brand. We have themed our banquet, 'Work Hard, Celebrate Big,’" said Gravett.
Gravett says the banquet is the chamber's opportunity to also introduce its new leadership and to recognize those who have done their part in making Seguin a better place to live, work and play.
"We're going to say farewell to Jeff (Fowler, chairman). Actually, he'll still be on the board for another year as a past chair. We'll be saying hello to Mark Long as our incoming chair. So we have a fabulous set of directors for this coming year that we're also going to be introducing. Of course, we always have the community service awards that we're going to be giving out as well as education service and business excellence," said Gravett.
Tickets are $40 and can be purchased today at the chamber office. Gravett says only a limited number of tickets will be available at the door.
"But it should be a fantastic night with Park Plaza Hotel's Chop House Grill as our caterer. So it's a delicious menu involved – lots of fun interactive parts tonight. We're going to have a picture wall with a red carpet for our people to interact and come in write on a white board what Real Seguin is to them. We're going to be showcasing the new video that the city just put together. It is so fabulous. I just saw it. Everybody is going to love it. It's really going to be very fast paced and fun night. Of course, everybody likes the social hour that is sponsored by American Bank of Texas each year. That starts at six o'clock and the program will get going at seven and Mark Long promises we'll be out by 8:30," said Gravett.
The social hour gets underway at 6 p.m. followed by the program at 7 p.m. at the Coliseum. Tickets can be purchased at www.seguinchamber.com
