(Seguin)  -- The Seguin Police Department detained two juvenile females believed to be responsible for some alleged threats made via social media. The threats claimed that someone dressed as clowns would commit acts of violence at the high school. Seguin police officers say the threats were not credible, but rumors spread quickly about the situation on Friday.

The Seguin ISD confirmed early Friday morning that despite the posts, there was "absolutely no truth" to the threats.

The students, believed to be involved, were reportedly taken to the Seguin Police Department for questioning. They have allegedly admitted to being behind the threats, and officials say charges are possible.

Seguin Police Department officials say there was no real threat this time, but they say they will take all of these cases seriously, and there are consequences whether the threats are real or not.

Meanwhile, as part of the investigation, detectives are asking anyone who received one of the alleged "clown-related" threats to come forward.
