(Seguin) -- Free games, prizes, a hot dog lunch and a chance to win a bike will all be part of the fun during Saturday's annual Badges, Bikes and Tykes event at Max Starcke Park. This Saturday, local kids are invited to join the Seguin Police Department and the Seguin Fire/EMS Department for a fun day of games and activities.
Carlos Contreras, the public information officer for the Seguin Police Department, says the event is designed to partner up emergency officials with the community's children for a day of fun and friendship.
"We're going to have various agencies from around the area there at the location too for the kids to interact with. We will have of course the fire department, our police department officers and personnel and the other agencies. The different games that we had similar to last year, were the tug-of-war, a basketball game between either fire fighters or law enforcement officers and face painting and various other types of games to win different types of prizes," said Contreras.
In addition to free games, safety technicians will also be available for car seat safety checks from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the large pavilion. Families are simply asked to pull up and park for the 10 to 15 minute car seat check.
This year's Badges, Bikes and Tykes event will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Max Starcke Park East.
