(Seguin) -- Candidates are invited to consider a seat on the Seguin City Council.
City Secretary Naomi Manski says candidate packets are currently available for the unexpired term and now vacant seat on the council.
"City of Seguin is going to be housing a special election for the purpose of electing someone to fill the unexpired term of City Council District 3 which was previously served by Phil Seidenberger and the first day to file for a place on the election (ballot) is Saturday, July 22. However since it is a Saturday, the first day (to file) becomes Monday, July 24 and the last day to file will be Monday, August 21, 2017," said Manski.
Manski says the packet for District 3 is designed to answer most questions including residency requirements for potential candidates.
"There will be a map in the candidate packet that shows the boundaries of District 3. They can also refer to their voter registration card which shows your city district and it should say SD 3. There is a number of information that is in there that would tell them what all it entails and the type of election, date of election and later, we will be giving out notices for the voting locations and dates and times," said Manski.
Candidate packets can be picked up at the Seguin City Hall receptionist desk Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
City Hall is located at 205 N. River St.
