(Seguin) -- Seguin ISD's new school superintendent isn't only working to meet those within the campuses. He's also wanting to reach out into the community.
Sean Hoffmann, the public information officer for the Seguin, says residents interested in meeting Superintendent Dr. Matthew Gutierrez will have a couple of opportunities to do so during a pair of scheduled Meet and Greet events.
"These events will be held at district office and really he has scheduled these events as an opportunity for community members be that parents, business leaders and students to come in, meet him and his key staff members. These are come and go events. People can stay for as long or as short as they like. But, really it's just opening that door to Seguin ISD and opening that door to the administrative office so that people could feel comfortable coming here, get to put a face with a name and also meet Dr. Gutierrez as he is wrapping up his first month on the job here in the Seguin ISD," said Hoffmann.
Hoffmann says such events are being put into place to help the public better understand the operation of the district and to better enhance the line of communication between the district and the community.
"Again, he has pledged to be visible in the community. He has pledged to be welcoming and this is one of those initiatives that he feels is important to make true to that promise," said Hoffmann.
Meet and Greet events are planned for this Friday, Sept. 8 from 8 to 10 a.m. and on Monday, Sept. 11 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Seguin ISD District Office located in Oak Park Mall at 1221 E. Kingsbury.
