(Geronimo) -- The Navarro ISD has exceeded the $5,000 mark in its efforts to raise money to support the people of Refugio. The town of Refugio was hard hit by Hurricane Harvey last month, and several Navarro ISD residents have been stepping up to help support the town. They have been raising money that will be donated to Refugio ISD officials during a special ceremony of tonight's football game between Navarro and Refugio.
Even though they've collected just over $5,000, the fundraising continues until 4:30 this afternoon in the Navarro ISD. Monetary donations can be dropped off at the Navarro ISD Central Office or at Navarro High School. The football game kicks off at 7:30 tonight at Navarro's Erwin-Lee Field.
