(Seguin) -- You're invited to stop by GRMC this Saturday for a toast to breast cancer prevention. Guadalupe Regional Medical Center will keep free-flowing mimosas on tap this weekend as it invites local women to its first ever Mammos & Mimosas event.
Chelsea Grayson, director of marketing, says not only will women get to learn the latest in 3D mammogram technology, but other attendees will be actually receiving their screening on that day.
"It's very tailored towards women obviously and so the idea is to have this two hours of pampering, shopping and screening at GRMC and it's just to promote Breast Cancer Awareness Month since obviously that's what October is all about and let the community know, 'hey, you need to get out, you need to make sure you get your annual screening. That's the best way to prevent breast cancer,'" said Grayson.
Grayson says the event will be complete with two hours of shopping and pampering.
"It's just about education for the community, about mammography and about getting your annual screening. So we have a fun little tagline, cheers to prevention. So you're going to have a free-flowing mimosa bar. We're going to have a bunch of different munching items from our cafe. We have lots of local vendors ranging from community businesses to private businesses. We're going to have a massage station. We have lots of very cool door prizes," said Grayson.
Mammos & Mimosas will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday in the GRMC Central Entrance Lobby. A limited number of mammograms will be available during the event. Those interested must make an appointment in advance by calling 830-401-7745.
