(Seguin) -- Forensics testing is currently underway for two bodies found in a home gutted by fire early Monday morning. The Seguin Police and Fire Departments say they are working together to investigate what is believed to be a murder-suicide.

Deputy Police Chief Bruce Ure says the case started as a fire call along I-10 at a home located near the Love's Travel Stop off of IH 10 West. Ure says once they arrived on scene, it became clear that this case would lead to something more.

"Right around 4:45 (a.m.), a passerby on I-10 called in a structure fire in the 4000 block of IH-10 west bound. It's kind of a mobile home or modular home, I think is what they call them but a modular home that was set way back off the roadway on a pretty large piece of property. While the firefighters were there -- it's in our jurisdiction, but probably only by 150 yards so we had Marion there -- The Marion Fire Department, Seguin Fire Department, Guadalupe County Sheriff's Office and the Seguin PD there. While we're all there, one of the Seguin Police Officers found a, what we believe is a legitimate suicide note that was attached to the front gate as you drive into probably about 50 feet
from the trailer," said Ure.

Ure says because they believed bodies were inside the burning structure, they had approach this situation a little bit differently.

"Based on the fact that it was a murder suicide note and based on that, we are in the process of getting a search warrant just to err on the side of what I would call ‘judicial caution.’ They had the firefighters doing some standard
overhaul," said Ure.

Ure says their detectives are working along with the Seguin Fire Marshal to collect evidence and investigate both the murder-suicide and the fire itself. The names of the two deceased have not yet been released, but Ure says the man
who lived there was believed to be in his 60s.

The two deceased bodies were recovered from inside the home shortly before noon Monday. Again, forensics testing has been ordered in hopes of positively identifying the bodies.
